I’m Tommy Mills and I want to be your next Leon County Sheriff

Thank you for visiting our campaign website and for caring about the public safety of our community! I hope that you share my vision for a better Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

As I visit neighborhoods, churches, senior centers, community meetings, businesses and after school programs, I continue to hear you— the citizens of Leon County say two things:

1)      We need a Sheriff who will be visible and accessible in our community.

2)      We need a Sheriff who is a sound fiscal manager— one who will make the right budget choices during these tough economic times without sacrificing the safety and security of our families, our property and our piece of mind. 

I say it's time for both. As a decorated Sheriff's deputy and proven community leader with nearly 30 years in law enforcement, I have the experience to do the job and will provide the leadership to do it well. 

I want to work closely with other law enforcement organizations so we can take our community off the Forbes magazine list of top 10 most dangerous cities in America.    

My plan, if elected as your Sheriff, includes creating:

• Innovative measures for crime prevention and detection; 

• Collaborative partnership with law enforcement agencies and our business community, and

• Sound fiscal policies that eliminate excess spending.
